Yesterday, I finished my books by deadline, but I have to admit the last one took me forever to read. I only finished it because it was for a review. Not for me at all, but you’ll see my personal review in April. I made up for the disappointment by watching my favorite Christmas movie last night, “The Muppets Christmas Carol” starring Michael Caine. If you haven’t seen it, the music is delightful, and Caine is a great Scrooge. I’ve seen other versions and even a radio production of it starring Jefferson Mays.
Today, I have a few errands to run, and then home to read a book or two. I’m getting ready to go to my mother’s for the Christmas holidays, so I have laundry, packing, and a few gifts to wrap.
I’ll be back on the blog soon. Thanks for your patience!
You should wrap presents while watching THE Christmas movie, DIE HARD.
I’ve seen Die Hard. It was good, but Michael Caine and the Muppets still have my heart at Christmas, Kevin.
lol….. Sandi liked that movie a lot too. She would often have it on while she baked stuff.
Glad you are taking a bit of time off, Lesa. Hope you and your family will have a happy holiday time. I do like the Muppet move, but it’s been years….
I love the music< Kay. Paul Williams wrote it, and there are songs that make me cry every year.
We watch MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, which introduced my favorite Christmas song, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” And we have a bunch of Christmas-related episodes of favorite British series, like THE DARLING BUDS OF MAY, THE GOOD LIFE, GAVIN & STACY, etc. to watch next weekend.
I finished the non-Christmas but definitely COVID-related PAST LYING by Val McDermid yesterday.
My favorite CHRISTMAS CAROL is the Alastair Sim version.
Jackie said she loves the Muppets’ EMMET OTTER’S JUG-BAND CHRISTMAS.
Lesa, Enjoyyour holidays and have a safe trip!
