Black Friday doesn’t mean what anyone thinks today. It really means your blog post is black because I have nothing to post. As with many people, I enjoyed a long dinner with family and friends, then came home home and took a nap before watching a college basketball game. So, I started a new book, but I won’t have a review up until tomorrow. I didn’t go shopping today, so I’m not neglecting all you by spending time spending money.
Today, I’m going to finish my book, and, hopefully, start another one.
Enjoy the day!

You too, Lesa. No shopping here either, though I can’t swear Jackie won’t do her usual perusing Amazon for something to buy! Otherwise, she’s going to get her nails and her done this morning, and we’ll have leftovers this afternoon. Meanwhile, I’ll try and finish that Mark de Castrique book. I must say, cryptocurrency seems like it is replacing trafficking as the new go-to storyline in too many mysteries, and I don’t like it any more than the other. Luckily, there is the feisty Ethel (flying her own plane!) to keep things lively.
Jeff, I agree. I did like this one, though, because Ethel is such a fun character. And, cryptocurrency didn’t seem to take over this book.
Leftovers! Sometimes, they’re almost as good as the original meal.
It was too cold here today – 36 but felt like 26 because of a howling wind. But it is sunny and we’re mostly staying in. Yes, leftovers are as good as the first time, especially if there is stuffing (which there is!).
I don’t know about you, Jeff, but it looks like we’re in for more cold, and possibly some snow this week.
I love stuffing. Years ago, my aunt proclaimed that I was her official stuffing taster.
A worthy job!
Finished the book. Good, but…, too much impenetrable crypto stuff for me.
And keep off my lawn!
Good one, Jeff!
Hello, Lesa. I’m glad you’re having a reading day today. It’s a normal Friday in Switzerland, though downtown Bern is full of Christmas decorations since the first Advent Sunday falls on November 30. My Christmas wreath will go on my door then. Today and tomorrow I’m be cooking my contributions to our Swiss/US potluck supper tomorrow night, which is at the home of one of the four couples who participate, along with all our adult kids. I’m lucky that I only have to make green beans, an apple pie, and mashed potatoes.
Hi Kim, I could handle the apple pie. I like to bake, but I’m not a cook. Potlucks are always so fun. I always worry about what I’m going to take, though.
I put up a few decorations, but that’s it. I’ll be heading to my Mom’s in mid-December to spend the Christmas holidays, so I don’t decorate as much as I used to when I stayed home.
Hanging at the house while doing laundry, reading, and football.
Forecast is for possible strong storms tomorrow.
Even though I have five reviews in longhand to type up, I am not. Instead, I have started STORM TIDE by Paul Doiron. This next installment of the Maine Game Warden series comes out in June.
Doing the same, Kevin, and we’re expected to have that storm, too.
My nephew is listening all the C.J. Box books. I’m going to suggest the Paul Doiron ones after he finished these. He can listen at work. He was never a reader, but he goes through a lot of books once he found audiobooks.
