I do not have the patience to mess with Blogger at 9:45 PM after I finished the book I intended to review. The review will run on Saturday. It’s too frustrating to deal with the images when I can’t put them where I want to. Blogger has changed their format, and I’ve been messing with it now for over a week. The only reason the last two blogs have looked good is they were published prior to the new Blogger format.
If Blogger can mess with blogs that have been in existence for over fourteen years, it’s a shame they can’t stop the idiotic spammers who want to talk about vampires, their marriages, and who knows what all.
Don’t worry. I’m not stopping the blog. It’s just that it’s been a long day, and I hate Blogger.
Much empathy Lesa!
Is there a possibility of changing to WordPress? But I know that also drives some people mad. All of these things will keep making ‘improvemtns’ that nobody wants. The local news site that I sometimes contribute reviews to use WordPress, and because I’m not on it every day, or even every week, each time I go back to it it seems to have changed and I have to ask one of my fellow contributors how to deal with it. All so frustrating, and you do end up feeling it’s just a job creation scheme for web people.
Anyway, have a calm day and we’ll all look forward to seeing you tomorrow 🙂
Rosemary
I use WordPress every day, Rosemary, when I blog for Poisoned Pen. It's actually easier to use for me than Blogger has become. However, I don't know how I would convert 14 years of material to WordPress, and I would be changing the address of the blog as well.
You're right. It does just feel as if it's a job creation scheme.
My sympathies. I hate the new Blogger interface as well and don't understand why they forced the change on all of us who don't want it.
Thank you, Cora. Every time I complain about Blogger, I fill out the Feedback form. I know it's not going anyplace, but it makes me feel better. I haven't yet talked with anyone who uses Blogger and likes the new interface.
Lesa, all I have to say is to read the first two lines of my post today. I accidentally hit 'post' (except it was a little symbol that I had no idea what it meant). So, I had to turn it back into a draft and continue on with some actual content. My sympathies. I have struggled too. Ha!
It's not fun, right, Kay?
I do sympathize also. I have been able to get along with new blogger as long as I only want to put an image in the center of the page. I actually did get one image to the right side on my most recent post, but it felt like was accidental. And then I tried some of the various heading formats, but they don't work consistently within a post.
But I don't want to switch to WordPress and learn another new way of doing things. Although possibly it would cut out the spam we have to deal with. Before retiring, I was a database programmer and I should be able to deal with all of this, but I don't want to.
But I have been limping along.
I also hate the new blogger. I hate it.
Oh, Tracy! If you're having a hard time, no wonder so many of us hate the new Blogger. Images are my problem. I'm scared to death as to what will happen with my Treasures in My Closet post. I better start on it this weekend, or it will be a disaster.
And, you're right! I hate all the spam, but I want to allow comments, and allow readers to talk to each other, especially on Thursdays. But, this vampire idiot is really getting to me. Especially with "how my partner and me became vampires." That's my partner and I!
Me, too, Kevin. And, yesterday was the first day I didn't leave them feedback saying I hate it.
I love that you correct spam grammar!
Linda, It drives me nuts that it's in the opening sentence. I don't read the rest of it, but that one always jumps out when I'm deleting the spam.
I can sympathize with your troubles. I used Typepad for my blog eons ago. But I do understand about having to convert a ton of material. And change address. Too much to consider with everything else going on.
So true, Sandie. And, I'm working on a post for Sunday that is going okay. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's going to change HOW I do the Treasures post, but it will have to work.
