This may be the most spread out description of a 3 day trip ever. My Mom and sisters and I went to Cincinnati for three days last week. As always, we crammed a lot into 3 days, even a tornado warning.
We left my sister’s and drove to the William Howard Taft Historical site, the site of his family home until he was 18.
After a tour with a terrific guide, we waited out a downpour, and headed to Findlay Market. Unless you’re into a food market, that was a disappointment, but our only one on the trip. On the other hand, I got a great picture of Christie with Mr. Baseball.
From there, we headed to our hotel, Graduate Cincinnati. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff was fun and always joked with us. The hotel itself is themed for the city and the University of Cincinnati. I didn’t understand half of the symbols, but, between Christie and the hotel staff, we got it all. I’m sharing just a couple pictures from our room.
We ended our first day with a tornado siren and warning. We evacuated our room, and went and sat in a hallway without windows. Fortunately, we only had to sit there about half an hour or so. It was a memorable ending to the day.
Looks like you had fun
We had a great time, Sandy. Thank you.
You gotta love a hippo with eyes like that! Glad that you are having a great time.
So true, Carol!
You have to love a hippo with eyes like that! Glad that you are having a great time.
Great pictures, especially your sister’s baseball picture and Fiona.
Thank you, Jeff!
I love seeing your photos and hearing about your trip. It’s fun to follow along. Glad that retirement has given you all this time to spend with your family.
I am, too, Susan. And, to think I didn’t know where I wanted to go when I retired. Home is best.
The life you live, like no other 😊
I’m happy with it, Carol!
Very much enjoyed seeing these pictures and hearing a bit about your trip. Thank you for sharing them. I’ve just gone down a little rabbit hole by looking up a bit about the house Taft lived in. You and your sister look completely relaxed and happy. Love it. Can’t wait for Day 2!
Day 2 will probably be Wednesday, Lindy. I have a book review scheduled for Tuesday.
You’re right. We always enjoy being together.
