While I firmly believe “Happiness is a Book”, it’s also the name of a blog by one of my friends, Aubrey Hamilton. I think many of you will enjoy the discoveries you can find on her site, https://happinessisabook.com/.
Aubrey tends to read many more mysteries from the Golden Age of Mysteries than I do, but I find that her posts for “Friday’s Forgotten Books” are intriguing. Her reviews are well-written and well-researched. Because the mysteries are older books, I often end up buying the first in a series when she recommends them. They’re not always available in our library system.
In the last month, she’s reviewed books by Erle Stanley Gardner, M. McDonnell Bodkin, Elizabeth Linington, Colver Harris, and Ianthe Jerrold. While I’ve read Gardner and Linington under many of her names, I’m not at all familiar with the other three authors.

Thanks, Lesa! Happiness is most definitely a book (and I did enjoy The Summer Seekers. It”s a feel good story!)
You’re welcome, Patricia! Thanks for letting me know about The Summer Seekers.
Aubrey has certainly piqued my interest in the Golden Age mysteries, too. Between Aubrey and Martin Edwards, I feel like I’m in expert hands for choosing great reading in this area. Of course, it’s especially nice that Aubrey is just a phone call away.
I think you’re right, Kathy. Between Aubrey and Martin Edwards, you’ll have excellent guidance. And, you can talk with Aubrey about the books afterwards!
