Although I used this several years ago on my Facebook page, it really does define Thanksgiving to me. It’s a time to gather together with family and friends, if possible, and be thankful for the blessings bestowed on us. Although in the U.S., we associate Thanksgiving with pre-Colonial feasts, gratitude for food and harvest festivals were celebrated in the fall long before the 1600s as a time to be grateful for a successful harvest. Even then, it was a time to gather with friends and family in gratitude.
I know how blessed I am with a family I love, and friends who take me in as family. I had the chance to get together with family twice in November, the last times before winter settles in. At the moment, we’re all healthy and we were able to enjoy our times together. On Thanksgiving, I’ll spend time with friends, laughing and enjoying good food and good conversation (often about books).
I know how lucky I am to have the chance to chat about books with all of you. This blog is another place to gather together and share something we all love – the joy of reading. I’m thankful we can do that.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have time to count your own blessings, time to talk with friends and family, even if you can’t be with them. Enjoy a quiet day set aside for gratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving, my friends.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Lesa.
It is just our small primary family that is together tomorrow for food and movies, and I am grateful that we will be together.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Enjoy the day.
Thank you Lesa for providing a warm, cheery setting to share books and for all your wonderful reviews.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Lesa ❤️ A small grateful gathering of two here today. Enjoy your day of great food and great friends!

Happy Thanksgiving, Lisa and all you book lovers! You are all a blessing 💞
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving! Descended from Stephen Hopkins who came over on the Mayflower, not as a Pilgrim but as rascal! He learned the language of the indigenious tribes and helped to settle disputes between the tribes and the settlers. A peacemaker! Does everyone know that Thanksgiving has a connection the end of the Civil War?
