Still raining here – it started last night – but it is (slowly) getting warmer and may be close to 60 (for just one day, alas) tomorrow. We got food in hand so we don’t have to leave the house today.
You can’t beat retirement.

I totally agree with you, Jeff. You can’t beat retirement. It’s what allows me to come up to Mom’s for a couple weeks, and not worry about a deadline to get back. I have a tentative date, but it depends on the weather. And, if I don’t like the weather, I can stay longer.
I’m reading The French Ingredient which someone had recommended here and am totally enjoying it. I needed a break from murder! I’m totally jealous that you have your Mom to spend time with! Enjoy!
Donna, I know how lucky I am to still have my Mom to spend time with. And, today, she was out walking the pier in our hometown with Santa Claus and friends!
A gloomy day here in Williamsburg but we had lovely weather for Grand Illumination last weekend. So many tourists come for the experience that I always feel bad if it’s rainy. My daughter and family (2 small grandsons) arrived from Germany Sat night. They are on European time so it’s been pretty noisy since 4 AM. I suppose I will miss these days?

Just after 3 PM here in NE Dallas, the sun is out, and our thermometer reads 80 and DFW airport claims it is 77. Storms are rapidly building over Fort Worth to our west. Fingers crossed for no severe weather.

Kevin, I’m not running the streets with my Mom, so I won’t ask for bail money. BUT, Mom was running around on our pier this morning at 7 AM with Santa. I may have to beg bail money for Mom from my sisters.
Good evening from Aberdeenshire Lesa. It’s been surprisingly mild here today; I met Nancy in town for coffee (at one of my favourite city centre cafes. It’s called SCONE! And I have to say their scones are fabulous.)
Nancy was rushing around doing all kinds of Christmassy stuff. I was not and am not, hoorah! Instead I’ve been to the library, and am now writing my Top Ten Reads of 2024, which I’ll email to you asap.
