It’s time to start the weekly giveaways for 2022. Let’s start with two books set in England.
Over My Dead Body is Jeffrey Archer’s book. It’s the latest William Warwick novel, but you don’t have to have read the previous books in order to read this collection of cold cases that are tied together. Detective Chief William Warwick and his new cold case unit are charged by Scotland Yard to solve four cold cases.
Not every book in my Treasure piles is a mystery. Julia Kelly, author of The Light Over London returns with The Last Dance of the Debutante, a masterful, glittering novel that whisks you to midcentury Britain as it follows three of the last debutantes to be presented to Queen Elizabeth II.
When it’s announced that 1958 will be the last year debutantes are to be presented at court, thousands of eager mothers and hopeful daughters flood the palace with letters seeking the year’s most coveted invitation: a chance for their daughters to curtsey to the young Queen Elizabeth and officially come out into society.
In an effort to appease her traditional mother, aspiring university student Lily Nichols agrees to become a debutante and do the Season, a glittering and grueling string of countless balls and cocktail parties. In doing so, she befriends two very different women: the cool and aloof Leana Hartford whose apparent perfection hides a darker side and the ambitious Katherine Norman who dreams of a career once she helps her parents find their place among the elite.
Which book would you like to win this week? You can enter to win both books, but I need separate entries. To enter the giveaway, you must email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject heading should read either “Win Over My Dead Body” or “Win the Last Dance.” Please include your name and mailing address. The giveaway will end Thursday, Jan. 13 at 5 PM CT. Entries from the U.S. only, please.
I love both of these authors and am trying for both of these books. Thank you for the chance to win.
You’re welcome, Bonnie! Good luck!
I got LAST DANCE from the Washington digital library on publication date. So rare for them to get a book on my list when it comes out! I am enjoying it – a bit of a slow start but now I hate to put my new Kindle down.
Great, Cindy! What a terrific plug for the book. Thank you!
