First, congratulations to the winners of the last contest. Lynn L. from Rio Linda, CA won After the Storm by Linda Castillo. Jim G. of Prescott, AZ won A Churn for the Worse by Laura Bradford. The books will go out in the mail tomorrow.

I’m not running a giveaway this week. I’ll be in Chicago at Book Expo America for most of next week, so I won’t be around to mail anything. Check back again on Friday, May 20th for the next contest.

And, my blog is going to be a little up and down for the next week or so. I’m on a panel at BEA, so I’m getting ready for that while also trying to get social media ready for work. If I finish a book, or have the time to write, I will. I’ll do my best because it’s important to me that I spend time talking books with you. But, you all know that once in a while something else comes up.

I also want to extend my sympathy to the family of Jim and Joyce Lavene. Joyce died earlier this year, and Jim died yesterday. They wrote a number of mystery series under their names, under J.J. Cook, and under Ellie Grant. They will be missed.

I’m a big NCIS fan. The other night, Abby started a hashtag #LivingRocks, and told her friends what she appreciated about them. She said it’s too late to tell people after they’re gone, so she wanted to celebrate them while they were alive. So, in the spirit of Abby, after the death of the Lavenes, I want to send out a note to all of my author friends. Thank you for all the joy you bring to the lives of your readers. You never know how you change our lives. #LivingRocks.
