I don’t know how you celebrate, or if you do. Mom and I are going to a birthday brunch for my sister, Christie, today. We’ll attend Mass this evening.
May your holiday be filled with love, laughter, and joy. As Connie Schultz says, though, if this has been a rough year for you, may the holiday land gently on your shoulders.
Merry Christmas Eve to those who celebrate.
Likewise, Lesa. MerryChristmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas, Lesa. Have fun with your family. We have a quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas and that is the way we like it.
Thank you, Lesa. Merry Christmas Eve to you, too. In Switzerland, where I’ve lived for the past 35 years, December 24 evening is all-important: the tree is decorated with live candles, which are solemnly lit and carefully watched, everyone eats a simple, child-friendly meal; presents are opened, and many–Catholic and Swiss Protestant–go to a late-night church service. I’ll only be feeding five, but it will be fun!
Thank you, Kim! I’m so glad you shared that. My mother’s grandfather came from Germany, and when she was growing up, Christmas Eve was all-important as well.
We just returned from our Christmas Eve Mass. It was beautiful.
I’m so glad you shared your customs!
My son Nick has an almost-birthday as well (December 27). Enjoy today’s festivities!
Merry Christmas! We are waiting to celebrate til the 26th, when our entire family can be together. So grateful for that and so grateful for you and your community of book lovers.
Merry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Thank you, everyone, for sharing the Christmas wishes! Sending hugs to all of you!
