You all know I’m up at my Mom’s. My friend, David, called it my “summer residency”. Huron is a pretty town on Lake Erie in northern Ohio. This weekend is the annual Riverfest, celebrating the town and the Huron River. So, last night, we watched fireworks from Mom’s house. And, today, we walked down to the end of her street where she had parked our chairs at 6 this morning. We went at 10:30 for the 11:00 parade which was fun to watch. Small-town parades. Nothing like it.
I finished a book today, but it doesn’t come out until September.
Thanks for reading. I had two reviews scheduled for next week, but I think publication was delayed for one of the books. I’m going to check before Monday.
Sounds awesome.
It is fun, Kevin.
I’m glad you’re having fun
Thanks, Sandy!
So true. We went to small town parades when visiting friends in Ohio in the ’80s, and in California visiting my parents. They have such a different feel. Have fun.
They do, Jeff. When you know the grand marshal and people walking or riding in the parade, it’s fun!
I grew up just south of Huron and used to go to Nickel Plate Beach there. I hope you enjoy your visit and the festival!
Kate! Small world, isn’t it? I always enjoy my visit home. And, enjoyed the festival.
Have a wonderful time, Lesa!
Thank you, Margie!
I’m happy you get to see your mom (and sisters) pretty regularly these days. You’re busy making wonderful memories! And Huron sounds lovely. My husband and I traveled to Vermont a few years ago and I remember enjoying visiting many small towns; totally different from anything we have here.
Lindy, I spent so many years away that I agree. It’s wonderful to spend this time with my Mom and sisters. And, I cherish this time.
Thank you.
The Riverfest sounds like it was a pleasure. I’m so glad you’re having a good time with your mother. Looking forward to the next review, but no rush!
I have one on Tuesday, Kim. I was supposed to have one tomorrow as well, but pub date was delayed at the publisher’s for the author, so I’m moving the review.
Thank you for your patience!
