I’m back in New York with my sister, Linda, flying home on Sunday. And, I didn’t bring my laptop. This was purely a pleasure trip, four shows in three days, and maybe the Met. I’ll let you know when I get home. In the meantime, where are you for the weekend, either in a book, or in real life?
Glad we gave you better weather than on your last visit, Lesa. I mean, four consecutive days of mid-80s with almost Arizona-like humidity (28% yesterday) doesn't happen that often in July in New York.
We'll be seeing Patti ("Give me that d@mn cellphone!") Lupone in SHOWS FOR DAYS at Lincoln Center this afternoon.

Best weather I've ever had when I was here, Jeff! Thank you. Enjoy your show today – hopefully with no cell phones!
Enjoy your trip and shows! We're in the hot days of summer now. But, after all, it's July and closing in on August. Not unexpected. The rains have flown away though. Glad we had them earlier, but don't expect any more for a while. Take care and have a great time!
Have a grand time. Enjoying the cooler weather with a low-key weekend here! But last weekend took a sailboat cruise around Boston Harbor (I've only lived here 30-plus years!) for my birthday. š
I just left Nantucket, thanks to Nancy Thayer's The Guest Cottage. All I can say about this book is—COMFORT FOOD! It was a wonderful break from more stressful books, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Glad you're enjoying your NY stay.
Lesa… no laptop! I'm bowing in admiration.
This weekend I've been out photographing clouds with Kendall and spending time with Steve. Tomorrow I'm refining my theology and tweaking it some for a short journal article. Then I'll enjoy the great luxury of reading a mystery novel.
One of the highlights of the show was Patti Lupone herself doing the pre-show "turn off your cellphones – now!" announcement. We did enjoy the show. Lincoln Center is always a good venue.

We're just trying to stay cool here in Texas. Hope you had a lovely trip.

So happy that you and your sister are having a fun trip!
Glad you are having a fun trip. We were in Newell, WV to go to the Fiestaware Retail Outlet and then drove to Cleveland to see the Indians play the White Sox and took in the Cleveland Aquarium before the drive home to Columbus. Still reading Some Like it Scottish so I guess I'm in the Scottish Highlands too š
Thanks for the updates, everyone! Fun to see where you all went, and what you're doing – whether in reality or through the pages of a book. And, Jeff? I've only been to Lincoln Center twice, but it's gorgeous.
