Nineteen years. Lesa’s Book Critiques was nineteen years old yesterday. In recent years, I’ve forgotten to mark the date until after it passed. But, it’s worth mentioning. That’s a lot of books to read and talk about, a lot of authors to host. Somedays, it seems like more work than others, but I hope you know how much I appreciate the community we’ve formed here. Thank you for joining me to talk about books, your lives, and to share the books that enthuse or sometimes disappoint you.
I hope we can continue to keep the book conversation going for a number of years. Thank you for being here at Lesa’s Book Critiques.
Very cool! Big time congrats!
Wonderful!
I hope so, too! I look forward to reading your thoughts about books for many more years. Thanks for sharing with us.
Wow, that’s a lot of years. Well done.
I was recently thinking that I started paying attention to reading at least one short story a day in August of 1995. That is over 27 years, so a minimum of 8,000+. But that is at one story per day, and there were many more than that – over 800 the last two years before 2023.
So we’re talking more than 15,000 short stories. Probably way more.
That’s a lot.
😁
That is a lot, Jeff. A heck of a lot of short stories. That’s fabulous!
Congrats, Lesa, and thank you!
Wonderful, keep it going.
Congratulations, Lesa, and thank you for creating an atmosphere where we can come together to discuss, recommend, and celebrate books!
Congratulations Lesa! I always look forward to your Thursday book chats.
Congrats! I always look forward to Thursday
Congratulations! Thank you for your dedication to the written word.
Happy Anniversary!
Nineteen years! Wow. That’s a huge achievement. To think how much I’ve missed, having just found Lesa’s Book Critiques within the last year – and yet I’ve found SO many great books because of you and your community of readers. Thank you for doing what you do and thank you for all the hard work you put into this. And please know that there’s at least one person out here on the west coast of Canada who appreciates all that you do.
Oh, I love it, Lindy, that you took time to write, and say you’re on the west coast of Canada. Welcome!
There are readers in Scotland, Switzerland, and Canada, as well as the U.S. Thank you!
Happy anniversary, Lesa! I know that I have been reading your blog at least from 2011 (when we met in person at Santa Fe LCC). The only other blog that comes close to yours is Jungle Red Writers. They celebrated 18 years online recently.
Thank you, everyone. And, Grace? Thanks for mentioning Jungle Red Writers. I knew they had a lot of years writing.
Happy Anniversary – Here’s to the next 19! ❤
19, Kaye? Hmm, I’ll be 85. We’ll see. But, thank you for the kind wishes! (grin)
Happy Anniversary!
😁😂😃
The Next 19 Years comment was tongue in cheek.
But.
Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Cher, Judi Densch, Helen Mirren, etc. are still going strong acting, singing, anddancing around on stages world wide, so who knows!
I love your attitude, Kaye. You’re right. Who knows?
Thank you Lesa for all the hard work you put into these book chats. As a relative newcomer I appreciate being able to search into the past reviews also. From your reviews and the Thursday chats I have more suggestions than I can possibly read.
Thanks also for the mention of other’s review sites. It’s nice to see such a variety.
Congratulations! You must be doing something right. 😄 I’ve read your book blog for many years, and now it’s one of two that I still read every day without fail. (The other is my good friend Vicki Lane’s.) I hope you will continue to bring good books to our attention for a long time to come.
Congrats on the nineteen years of talking about books. I’m looking forward to reading about more books.
Wow! Nineteen years! Congratulations!
I knew your blog had been around before I started blogging (2012) but not how long. Nineteen years is a lot, and you put a lot of effort into it. I appreciate the work you do on the blog and that there is a place to talk about books with others.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. I’m happy you’re all here!
This is fantastic! A well-earned and deserved anniversary!
I somehow found you via Louise Penny – I used to read her blog every day and actually met her in New Canaan CT before she became so well know. I may not have time to comment but I do keep up with you and am amazed at how many books you and the others manage to read. I’ll look forward to putting up higher numbers when I am retired. 2023 was 65 which is actually more than anyone else I know!
Donna, 65 is nothing to be ashamed of! That’s a great number.
It’s not about the numbers. It’s about quality. If you enjoy what you read, that’s what counts.
Congrats! That’s a huge accomlishment.
Congrats Lesa on 19 years and many more to come!
Congratulations, Lesa!
Thank you, Con!
