Each month, there’s a terrific collection of new books. November is no exception. Here’s the second part of the books due out this month.

In The Jekyll Revelation by Robert Masello, an environmental scientist discovers Robert Louis Stevenson’s journal with particulars about his creating of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The journal also promises to reveal the truth about the identity of Jack the Ripper. But, something is missing from the steamer trunk containing the journal. It’s a flask containing the last drops of the potion that inspired Stevenson’s story. (Release date is Nov. 8.)

When She’s Gone is the first in a new series by Jane Palmer. She introduces female bodyguard Ara Zuyev, a woman as mysterious as she is tenacious. She’s a bodyguard for a powerful billionaire. When her charge, sixteen-year-old Samantha Harper is kidnapped, Ara herself comes under suspicion. And, FBI agent Luke Patrick is convinced she knows more than she’s saying. (Release date is Nov. 15.)

Katherine Pancol’s novel, The Slow Waltz of Turtles, has to have one of the most intriguing titles and covers of the month. A best seller in France, it’s the follow-up to The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles. Josephine Cortes is at a crossroads. She has to contend with divorce, family trouble, and even murder in her journey to discover who she really is. (Release date is Nov. 1.)

I’m going to have to try Tony Parsons’ crime novels. British Detective Constable Max Wolfe returns in The Hanging Club, the third in the series. A band of vigilante executioners roam the hot summer nights, abducting evil men who they judge unworthy of living and hanging them. They’ve sentenced men to death – the game member who abused dozens of vulnerable girls, the wealthy drunk driver who mowed down a child. Now, Max embarks on his most dangerous investigation yet, hunting a righteous gang of vigilante killers who many believe to be heroes. (Release date is Nov. 1.)

Hank Phillippi Ryan returns with Say No More, the next book in her award-winning Jane Ryland series. When Boston television reporter Jane Ryland reports a hit-and-run, she learns she actually witnessed the collapse of an alibi. Just as she convinces a date rape victim to reveal her experience, she receives a terrifying message, “SAY NO MORE.” At the same time, homicide detective Jake Brogan searches for the killer of a Hollywood screenwriter. Both Jane and Jake are looking for answers as they try to balance the consequences of revealing the truth. (Release date is Nov. 1.)

Phoef Sutton brings us Heart Attack and Vine, a noir novel featuring L.A. bodyguard/bouncer Caleb Rush (Crush). When Rachel Fury, a long-lost con artist friend, reappears under a new name as a glitzy movie star, she hires Crush as a bodyguard, and he quickly gets drawn into a criminal mess that requires all his brawn, skill, and savvy to negotiate. (Release date is Nov. 8.)

Her Nightly Embrace by Adi Tantimedh is the first in a trilogy of novels in development for a TV series. They feature Ravi Chandra Singh, a destructive British-born Indian private investigator and his ragtag team of eccentric coworkers who handle high-profile cases so undercover that they never make the headlines. (Release date is Nov. 1.)

Award-winning author John Edgar Wideman tells the story of Emmett Till’s father in Writing to Save a Life: The Louis Till File. The account traces two generations of one family – civil rights martyr Emmett Till, and his father, Louis, a soldier who was executed in Italy during World War II for committing rape and murder. (Release date is Nov. 15.)
