Sunday was a full day for us, beginning with check-in for our day time tour, the Louvre, lunch at the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame. After check-in, we started with breakfast at Le Carrousel. First, though, the environment, including the gold statue of Jeanne d’Arc, Joan of Arc.
And, oh, the croissants in Paris! (Can you tell I was all about the food?)
From our meeting point, we walked to the Louvre. Lots of photos from here, with no captions.
Except, I do have to identify these sculptures as done by Michelangelo. They’re slaves that were not placed at the original site.
Then, other photos from the Louvre.
I liked Delacroix’ “Liberty Leading the People”. Although our tour guide told us the man in the top hat was the artist, I’ve read otherwise online. But, this painting supposedly influenced Victor Hugo when he wrote Les Miserables. The little boy on the right may have been the inspiration for the young character of Gavroche.
From the Louvre, we boarded the boat to go down and up the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, where we had lunch at the restaurant.

After lunch, it was off to Notre-Dame Cathedral on the Île de la Cité.
From Notre-Dame, we walked around the Île de la Cité, and then Ile Saint-Louis.
That included drinks at Cafe St Regis. Limoncello! And, ice cream at the famous Berthillon’s. You’ll recognize Kaye Wilkinson Barley as the flaneuse there.
Ended our day at Square Jean XXIII, and other sites in the 4th arrondissement.

Lesa, What great Pictures! We've been to Paris several times and the photos bring back memories of things we've seen and shown us places we'll have to visit on our next trip.
