This week, I’m giving away ARCs (Advanced Reading Copies) of two mysteries set in Victorian England.
Let’s start with Anne Perry’s Murder on the Serpentine. It’s the concluding book in the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series for that time period. Thomas Pitt is summoned to Queen Victoria’s private chambers, and asked to take on a job for her. One of her closest confidantes has been murdered, and she’s afraid she sent him to his death. Now, Pitt is taking on a dangerous case, one with repercussions for the country.
Cyrus Barker and Thomas Llewelyn also take on a case for Her Majesty’s government in Will Thomas’ Hell Bay. Barker is asked to provide security for a secret conference with the French government, a conference to take place at Lord Hargrave’s estate on a remote island off the coast of Cornwall. But shortly after the parties arrive, Lord Hargrave is shot by a sniper, and the French ambassador’s head of security is found stabbed to death. Now, everyone is trapped on the island with no way of escape.
Which Victorian mystery would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject line should read either “Win The Serpentine” or “Win Hell Bay.” Please include your name and mailing address. Entries from the U.S. only, please. The giveaway will end Thursday, October 5 at 5 PM CT.
