I didn’t have much reading time today. I’m getting ready for my family to come in, and I went to lunch with friends. So, I didn’t get far in E.J. Copperman’s new mystery, Written Off.
Written Off is the first Mysterious Detective mystery. How would you feel if you were an author, writing a series about Duffy Madison, a police consultant, and then Duffy Madison calls, saying he’s a police consultant and he needs help?
I’d love to know what you’re reading!
In fact, feel free to come back and tell me what you’re reading all week. Keep it going! I don’t know that I’m going to have much time to be on the blog, and I might not even have wifi for a few days.
So, schedule-wise. This week’s giveaway will be up on Friday. I can’t say much about Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So, why don’t you stop by the blog at www.poisonedpen.com? Click on “blog” on the homepage. I write the blog there, and I have some fun interviews this week. Today, Laura Bradford is up. Later this week, it’s Kate Carlisle and JT Ellison.
I can say, I’ll be having fun with my mom & sisters. Enjoy your week! (But, I’m around today. Let me know what you’re reading!)
I'm reading this year's Liv Bergen Jacob's Descent by Sandra Brannan.
I'm going to be away for part of the week so I'm not sure how much reading I'll get done but I'm taking The Professor Woos the Witch by Kristen Painter with me.
Enjoy your family time, Lesa.
I've started the third of Justin Cronin's THE PASSAGE trilogy (second was THE TWELVE), CITY OF MIRRORS. It's 600 pages and the print is small so it may take a while.
I finished Loren Estleman's collection DESPERATE DETROIT and Stories of Other Dire Places yesterday (good one, as expected), and I'm reading a CWA (British Crime Writers Association) collection edited by Martin Edwards, DEADLY PLEASURES. The authors are a top-notch group, including Simon Brett, Liza Cody, John Harvey, Peter Lovesey, and Peter Robinson, among others.
I just finished Charlaine Harris's Midnight Crossroads and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected so I will definitely be looking for the other two in the series. Now I'm reading Death at Breakfast by Beth Gutcheon, which is a lot of fun so far.
I will have reviews up this week of Eclair and Present Danger and Grilled for Murder.
But today, I'm hoping to finish up The Calamity Cafe by Gayle Leeson.
Just finished Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben, My Sister's Grave and Her Final Breath both written by Robert Dugoni. He has a new one that is part of this series that I will read soon. I have started Ravenscliffe by Jane Sanderson. I read her first book Netherwood they are both for fans of Downtown Abbey.
Thank you, everyone, for sharing! It's always fun to see what you're reading. Margie, that's my favorite series by Charlaine Harris. I just like that odd little community. Jeff, thanks for the good wishes. We'll have a great time together.
I am reading Mrs. Houdini by Victoria Kelly. So far it is good.
Oh, I have that on a pile, Sharon. I'm glad it's good.
I'm reading an author I've sadly neglected for too long —Martha Grimes, Richard Jury series. Specifically Old Fox D'ceived.
Currently reading Levon's trade by Chuck Dixon. It's a tough guy novel about a guy looking for a lost woman, and finding a lot of trouble.
I read the early Martha Grimes books, Jacqueline, and liked them. Somewhere along the line, I quit, though.
