When I finish one book over 200 pages at 8 PM one night, I hardly have time to get through a 300 page book the next day. Only on the weekends. So, I’m only 1/4 of the way through Susan C. Shea’s latest Dani O’Rourke mystery, Mixed Up with Murder. It’s set in the world of art collecting, but the world of academia adds a whole other dimension of greed and competitiveness.
What are you reading today? Something fun, I hope! Let us know. I’ll catch up sometime today. I’m always interested.
I'm reading 3 books at the moment
An ARC of Into the Dim by Janet B Taylor (YA time travel)
Male of Love: 108 Luminous Poems
The Court of the Air by Stephen Hunt (steampunk)
Just finished A Worthy Heart, by Susan Mason. Very good.
Now that we're in Florida I finally have the time to really relax and read. I Ihave a lot of catching up to do.
So far I finished LEVIATHAN WAKES (as previously mentioned) and read Asimov's FOUNDATION for the first time ever. (I'll read the rest of the series when we get home).
I'm currently reading (an ebook collection) TALES FROM THE OTHERVERSE: Stories of Alternate History from James Reasoner's Rough Edges Press. I'm about to start (I think) Brendan DuBois' standalone, DARK VICTORY: A Novel of Alien Resistance, which sounds somewhat like the TV series DARK SKIES.
Just about to finish Gordon McAlpine's WOMAN WITH THE BLUE PENCIL.
Thanks, everyone! I'm always looking to see what I might have missed, or what some of the library customers might like, so I appreciate your comments. And, Bill? Or, anyone who read WOMAN WITH THE BLUE PENCIL, what did you think?
Jeff, I hope you both have sunshine & can recover from whatever you had!
I'm reading The Skeleton Haunts a House. I like Sid the skeleton.
I'm fine now. It's been beautiful and 80 the last few days, though rain and a cold front are coming, which will knock the temperature down to the 60s next week.
Jackie is still coughing.
I'm just starting to read Dark Chocolate Demise by Jenn McKinlay.
I am reading The Aeronauts Windlass by Jim Butcher. My son thought that I would like it. He was right. I do!
I recently finished Mixed Up with Murder and enjoyed it. Currently I'm reading Margaret Mizushima's Killing Trail, hopefully the first in a series. The story is picking up steam, and there are a number of likeable characters, not the least of which is Robo, the police dog.
Murder Under blue Skies by Willard Scott and Bill Crider. I'm not a big fan of Willard Scott, but I pick up anything with Bill Crider's name on it.
Sandie, I'm a big fan of Sid's, too.
Jackie needs to get out in the sunshine while it's still nice, Jeff. Tell her I said I hope she's feeling better soon.
Mark, I know I've missed a few of Jenn's cupcake books, so I don't know if I read that one or not. Enjoy!
Karen, I heard a great recommendation for that book just yesterday.
Margie, Hard to beat those police dogs as characters to root for, isn't it? I'm glad you liked Mixed Up with Murder. I'm a third of the way through.
Glen, I hope Bill saw that comment.
I just finished Rainy Day Sisters by Kate Hewitt which I liked a lot. Now I am reading The Case of the Missing Morris Dancer by Cathy Ace. Having a hard time getting into it because I've only been able to read about 10 pages at a time.
I did see Glen's comment, Lesa. Thanks, Glen.
And I enjoyed THE WOMAN WITH THE BLUE PENCIL. It's a different kind of book, for sure.
I just finished "Host" by Robin Cook and started Lisa Jackson's "You Don't Want to Know."
I am reading Queen's Gambit by Elizabeth Freemantle. Good writing, great pace etc. but I seem to not have much time to read! So frustrating!!!
