As much as I’d like to tell you about Manners & Mutiny, the concluding book in Gail Carriger’s steampunk Finishing School series, I can’t yet. Last night was spent baking Christmas cookies for the cookie exchange at work. So, I’ll be finishing the book tonight.
Let’s talk about what you’re reading instead. What book has your attention this week? I’d love to know. (And, I am enjoying Carriger’s book.) I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re reading. Share, please!
I'm reading an ARC of The Violinist of Venice by Alyssa Palumbo. It's about Vivaldi and it's really good.
My boyfriend and I are listening to the audiobook of Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich. It's sort of silly but we wanted something light to listen too.
Last night I finished up What She Knew by Gilly McMillan and today I'm going to start The Dinner Party by Brenda Janowitz.
I'm reading a YA SF novel, The Beast of Cretacea by Todd Strasser.
I am re-reading A Glass of Blessings by Barbara Pym. Must be my 5th or 6th re-read over the years, and I still find new things in it every time.
On Saturday I did a charity shop trawl and came back with Tove Jansson's 'The Summer Book', Cristina Odone's 'A Perfect Wife' and George Sand's 'Winter in Majorca'. Of course more books were just what I needed to shore up my TBR pile π

I am reading A Likely Story by Jenn McKinlay. I enjoy these but I wonder how likely I will continue reading the series if the love triangle continues π
I've been reading mostly a LOT of short stories. I'm over 700 read so far this year, and I should reach last year's total of 760.
Now I'm reading:
Mary Karr, THE ART OF MEMOIR (I loved THE LIAR'S CLUB)
Isaac Asimov, I, ROBOT (short stories, originally published in the 1940's)
Connie Willis, IMPOSSIBLE THINGS (more short stories)
I'm on a Christmas kick right now. Yesterday I read Away in a Manger by Rhys Bowen (really put me in the mood) and now I have started Rest Ye Murdered Gentlemen by Vicki Delany, both on your recommendation, Lesa–thank you! Also queued up from the library are Yappy Hour by Dianna Orgain, Best Boy by Eli Gottlieb, The Puffin of Death by Betty Webb and Admissions by Meg Mitchell Moore.
A great lineup indeed!
Thank you, everyone! I love to see what you're all reading. Like you, Jeff, I tend to read a couple at a time, including a nonfiction, a mystery, sometimes a romance or story collection. Margie, that is a great lineup. And, Rosemary? Yes, I tend to pick up books like you, as if either of us need more for the TBR pile! Interesting comment, Sharon, about the love triangle. It appeared that she had made up her mind, but I could see that ending coming. We'll have to see what happens.
I'm reading King of the Weeds, a Mike Hammer novel by Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins.
Someday, Glen, I need to read a Mike Hammer novel.
Lesa – Gracie has kindly condescended to present my charity shop finds on Facebook. Watch out Jinx π
Oh, dear. I hope Jinx isn't too jealous, Rosemary!
Just received Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz. Starting tonight!
I am enjoying M.C. Beaton's Death of a Valentine. Have been laughing a lot. Also will start writing Christmas cards today.
