I could have stayed up last night, finished my book, and blogged at some ungodly hour. But, I didn’t. It was a long day – a good one, but long. I started work at 7:30, went home to feed the cats late in the day, back to work, and arrived home at 9:30 p.m. We had a retirement party for our library director who is retiring after twenty years as CEO, and longer with the library system. Wonderful party, including a mayoral proclamation and a champagne toast. But, it was a long day; my feet hurt, and I didn’t feel like finishing my book.

It’s a wonderful book. I do intend to finish Nina George’s The Little Paris Bookshop tomorrow. And, I’ll be starting Linda Castillo’s latest Kate Burkholder book, The Last Storm. So, that’s my weekend reading. And, in between books, I’m heading to the school system’s summer production of “Mary Poppins“. The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation’s summer production was fabulous last year, the best production of “Fiddler on the Roof” that I ever saw. So, between a retirement party, a school musical, and books, it’s a busy weekend.

What are you reading this weekend? Do you have time to fit it in?
