OK, I’ll admit that I could have finished love in lowercase last night, but, even though I’m owned by cats, I love the Westminster Dog Show. So, I was watching dogs last night instead of reading.
love in lowercase is a charming little novel by Francesc Miralles. It’s the story of a man who opens the door to a small cat one day, a cat that changes his whole life. Check back on Friday for my review of the book. Tomorrow, I have a wonderful interview with a crime fiction author you’ll want to get to know, Glen Erik Hamilton.
So, did you spend last night wasting time watching those beautiful dogs? Or, are you reading a book? What are you reading right now?
And, please. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the interview with Edgar nominee Glen Erik Hamilton.
The Tsarina's Legacy by Jennifer Llam (April 5)
Stop Being Lonely: Three Simple Steps to Developing Close Friendships and Deep Relationships by Kira Asatryan (Feb. 16)
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
The Goddaughter Caper by Melodie Campbell
Brendan DuBois' latest (just out) standalone, NIGHT ROAD. Lucky me got an ARC (signed) from the author at Bouchercon, and so far this New Hampshire-based thriller is terrific, as one would expect.
Just started MURDER NEVER KNOCKS, the latest Mike Hammer novel from Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins.
Just finished A kind of grief : a novel by A D Scott. This is the latest in a series about life in a small town in Scotland in the late fifties. One of my favorite series.
Started yesterday the new Reed Farrel Coleman book, Where it hurts. It appears to be a new series. I Love Coleman's Moe Prager series about a former police officer and the complications of his life and family. He is such a good writer!
I finished Lisa Gardner's new book FIND HER last night. This morning I began WHERE THE MEMORIES LIE by Sibel Hodge. Jury is still out on that one.
I watched the dog show last night. Right now I'm in between books but I'm going to start Off the Books by Lucy Arlington.
I finished What You See by Hank Phillippi Ryan last night, and I've just barely started Woof by Spencer Quinn.
I finished one great ARC, the Woman in Blue by Elly Griffiths and started another, the Murder of Mary Russell by Laurie King. I'm in reader heaven!
It's so nice to come back from a meeting to find all your comments on the blog. It's like my own personal library chat! It's so much fun to see what everyone is reading. Thanks for sharing!
I'm reading The Song of Hartgrove Hall by Natasham Solomons. Beautiful writing!
Thank you, everyone!
I'm reading The Renegades, a techno-thriller type book by Tom Young.
I got to page 150 of The Swans of Fifth Avenue by Melanie Benjamin and abandoned it. Disappointing especially since I loved The Aviator's Wife. Now I am reading The Witches of Cambridge by Menna van Praag and am enjoying it much more.
The Heart Goes Last, by Margaret Atwood. I am convinced she is a genius. Am also envious of the ARCs by Laurie King and Elly Griffiths. Love them both and have preorderd both books.
Just finished Infinite Home by Kathleen Alcott (beautiful!) and just started The Past by Tessa Hadley (love the writing and characters so far). And I love the dog show and tell by Golden, Vinnie, that he will always be "best in show".
Almost finished with Hesitation Wounds by Amy Koppelman and next up is He wanted the Moon by Mimi Baird.
I am a cat lover and a dog lover and I have a bird!
I forgot about the dog show last night so watched other stuff on TV. I'm almost finished reading Dark Moon Rising by Jacqueline Seewald. After that I plan to start a YA novel, A Killing Trail: a Timber Creek K-9 Mystery by Margaret Mizushima.
