Well, it was a little nerve wracking for a while last night, with my cell phone, the TV, the tornado sirens, everything going off with a tornado warning here. I should have known I was OK. None of the cats panicked, and Josh just sat and tried to figure out why I was gathering things to go sit in the only inner room I have, the guest bathroom.
So, who could read last night? Not me. I am reading John Sandford’s Extreme Prey, the perfect book for a Presidential election year. Lucas Davenport is no longer a cop, but that doesn’t mean the governor of Minnesota doesn’t call on him when he suspects there’s someone threatening a candidate.
What are you reading?
(And, Jeff, did you finish your book?)
I'm reading the Steven F. Havill book, COME DARK, but haven't finished it yet due to other things taking my time. I agree with you, so far I'd put it near the top of the series as I am really enjoying it a lot. Also read the latest British short story collection edited by Martin Edwards, MURDER AT THE MANOR: Country House Mysteries.
I'm reading See How They Run by Tom Bale.
I thoroughly enjoyed Diane Vallere's Suede to Rest and am just starting All the Winters After by Sere Prince Halverson.
Last night I finished Some Like It Hot-Buttered from Jeff Cohen. I LOVE his writing style and soon will have read all of his books. Now I'm searching for another author who writes quirky mysteries similar to his.
Not long ago I won a copy of One Foot in the Grapes by CarLene O'Neal given away by Lesa. I enjoyed it so much I am now reading the second book called Ripe for Murder. The author was new to me and glad I have had the chance get to know her writing style. If it wasn't for Lesa I would miss out on different authors and their books. This is such a great book blog to keep up with what is new in the book world.
I just started reading Find Her by Lisa Gardner, it is not a cozy book that is for sure. Now I have two books going. Find her had me hooked on the first page and I couldn't put it down. I love to find a book like that.
I'm reading Death of a Bad Apple the third, and so far final book in the Food Festival series by Penny Pike.
Thank you so much for sharing what you're reading! I've read some of the titles, but some are unfamiliar. Thank you, Charlotte, for your kindness. Mrs. Mac, you do realize Jeff Cohen is also E.J. Copperman, right? And, under that name, he's kicking off a new series June 14 with the first book, Written Off.
I'm finishing up Quest for Babylon's Soul by Sonadar Snow before delving into the pile of indie books to review.
I am reading Real Men Wear Beige by Donato Alep Alepedano. It is the story of a man who committed a white collar crime and his stay in prisions.
Just finished A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. I just loved it! I am starting Lost Among the Living By Simone St. James, having saved it to be read as a treat to myself.
I'm reading Incubation, the first book in Laura DiSilverio's YA dystopian trilogy.
A Man Called Ove, audio version. It is so good.

I did know about E.J. Copperman, but didn't know about the new series. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you, everyone. And, you're welcome, Mrs. Mac.
