Congratulations to the winners of the last contest. Cindy D. from College Place, WA and Donna S. from Milford, CT both won copies of Paula Hawkins’ A Slow Fire Burning. I mailed the books last Friday.

Just a reminder that the post office has slowed down the mail. I send boohs media mail because that’s the cheapest way to send them, but that also means they’ll probably take even longer to get there.

This week, I’m giving away a couple Halloween mysteries. I hope they get there before then.

Halloween Party Murder is a collection with novellas by Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis, and Barbara Ross. In Meier’s “Halloween Party Murder”, newcomers to Tinker’s Cove, Ty and Heather Moon, turn their Victorian home into a haunted house to raise money for charity. But, the fun turns to horror when Heather overdoses on tainted drugs, and Ty is accused of murder. Journalist Lucy Stone uncovers sinister secrets when she digs into the Moons’ history. Lee Hollis’ “Death of a Halloween Party Monster” finds her sleuth Hayley Powell hosting a Hollywood movie monster bash until partygoers stumble on Boris Candy’s bludgeoned corpse. In Barbara Ross’ “Scared Off”, three teenage girls holding a Halloween night sleepover are spooked when high schoolers crash the house for a party. But, no one expected to find the body of the third floor resident, elderly Mrs. Zelisko, dressed as a ghost and dead in the backyard.

Carol J. Perry’s first in a series, Be My Ghost, finds Maureen Doherty and her golden retriever Finn moving from Boston to Haven, Florida when Maureen inherits an inn. But, she also inherits a few tenants whose lease on life already ran out. And, then there’s the fresh corpse on the front porch.
