This week, I’m giving away two terrific dark crime novels, both published by Seventh Street Books. (This relatively new publisher is doing a wonderful job. I’m always interested in seeing their new titles.) Where I Can See You is a standalone by Larry D. Sweazy. Detective Hud Matthews returns to his hometown. When a rare murder occurs in his hometown, Hud is naturally included in the investigation. But, he’s already rubbed people the wrong way. He’s still haunted by his mother’s disappearance when he was eight years old, and he’s stirring up emotions in the town when he probes into the past.
Police at the Station and They Don’t Look Friendly is the sixth Detective Sean Duffy book by Adrian McKinty. I hadn’t read the earlier books when I picked this one up, and readers can certainly read it without having read the previous ones in the series. McKinty takes us to Belfast, Ireland in 1988. Duffy investigates when a man is found dead, shot by a crossbow in front of his own house. This novel, set during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, begins with Duffy digging his own grave at gunpoint. How does his case reach this point?
As I said, these are two terrific crime novels. Which one would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject line should read either “Win Sweazy” or “Win McKinty.” Please include your name and mailing address. The giveaway will end Thursday, June 22 at 6 PM CT. Entries from the U.S. only, please.
