This week, I have two historical mysteries to give away. C.M. Gleason’s Murder at the Capitol is a
fascinating mystery set in July 1861 in Washington, D.C. Discover D.C. during the early years of the Civil War when the Capitol building wasn’t yet completed. That’s why it comes as a shock when a body is found hanging from a crane under the dome on July 5. Lincoln’s investigator, Adam Speed Quinn joins forces with journalist Sophie Gates and Dr. George Hilton to investigate the murder, and a subsequent one. It’s a violent time, and an intriguing story.

Or you could travel to Pompeii at the beginning of the twentieth century with Lady Emily Hargreaves and her husband, Colin, in Tasha Alexander’s In the Shadow of Vesuvius. That’s where they discover a body, one that wasn’t buried during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. When the police dismiss the murder as the work of local gangsters, Lady Emily launches her own investigation. It seems no one really wants their secrets revealed, including someone who wants Emily off the case permanently.

Which mystery would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your entry should read either “Win Murder at the Capitol” or “Win In the Shadow of Vesuvius.” Please include your name and mailing address. The giveaway will end Thursday, March 12 at 5 PM CT. Entries from the U.S. only, please.
