Tuesday, May 20 is release day for Cara Hunter’s seventh DI Adam Fawley thriller, Making a Killing. I haven’t had a chance to finish it yet, but this latest book is as gripping as the previous ones in the series. If you want excellent police procedurals, you should be reading Cara Hunter’s books.
Just a quick peek before the actual review. When a woman’s body is found stuffed in a tree, stories immediately link it to earlier history in that location, and the deaths of women accused of witchcraft. However, that isn’t the most unusual aspect of the case. It’s a hair that is identified as belonging to a girl who disappeared eight years earlier.
DI Adam Fawley was in charge of the earlier case. Now, his team has been reunited to look at new evidence. And, they’re competing with a true-crime show investigating the same story.
If you missed my Treasures in the Closet post when this book was mentioned, you might want to look for the book, beginning on Tuesday.

Can’t wait for this one. This has become one of my favorite current series.
I agree, Jeff. Excellent police procedural series.
And as with so many, you definitely should read them in order.
I really like this series and my first thought was…I don’t remember having a hold for this. But explained by my library system not having the book. I read books 2 & 3 in the series before I could find the first. It’s hard for me to justify purchasing a book when I have so much on hand already. But truly a wonderful life if that’s my worst problem!
That’s true, MM. I hope that remains your worst problem!
