I’m a sometimes fan of Christina Lauren. Accidentally Yours is a short story, available only through Amazon Original Stories with Kindle Unlimited. The digital version is currently free that way. It’s in a series from Amazon. “The Improbable Meet-Cute: Second Chances.” If I say it reminds me of “You’ve Got Mail”, you may understand the premise.

After four years as the marketing manager for a small tech company, Veronica Cochran was let go. She’s doing online interviews, and accidentally logs into the middle of a Zoom meeting she wasn’t invited to attend. The tech guys are so much like her last company, but they have no marketing skills. Before she logs off, she tells them how bad their presentation is. Jude Tilde, the new CEO, tracks her down and offers her a job as a consultant. But, Veronica has a few demands.

As Veronica and Jude email back and forth, they banter and exchange witty comments. Veronica just wishes she had the same ability when she chats with the sexy upstairs neighbor in her apartment building. She’ll settle, though, for enjoying the email with her new boss. Then, he asks her out.

Accidentally Yours was just fun, with the humor and wit I enjoy in a light romance. Lauren’s best books have that wit. I loved The Unhoneymooners. If you can’t put your hands on this one, and you’re a fan, put the next book on your TBR wish list. The Romance Revival comes out in July.
