I had two days of errands. Fortunately, one of them yesterday was to the library. I picked up a first mystery by a romance writer, what they’re calling a ro-mystery. We’ll see. It might be too sweet for me. I’ll let you know on Thursday when we talk about what we’re reading. In the meantime, here’s a hint about The Crime Brulee Bake Off by Rebecca Connolly.

About the Author
Rebecca Connolly is the author of more than two dozen novels. She calls herself a Midwest girl, having lived in Ohio and Indiana. She’s always been a bookworm, and her grandma would send her books almost every month so she would never run out. Book Fairs were her carnival, and libraries are her happy place. She received a master’s degree from West Virginia University.
I’ll talk about it tomorrow, with, hopefully, a review on Friday.

Errands really take it out of me. Heat, humidity, and too many people being crappy driving and otherwise.
Though, I must say, the librarians on duty today at the Lochwood Branch were wonderful. Not only were they thrilled to see me as normally these days Scott goes in for us and I was doing it instead, while clearly very concerned about how I looked and was doing, they showed they cared and did not totally freak out. This is in sharp contrast to the cashier at Kroger that kept asking if I needed am ambulance while telling me I was breathing as hard as her husband did last fall in the days before he suddenly died.
Gee, thanks.
Sadly, they had nothing on the new arrivals shelf so I got Scott’s two books and went home. As some fast food places here are now delivering meals by drone, I really should have suggested into them that the Dallas Public Library system should deliver books that way.
I know, Kevin! Quite often I go home and take a nap after a morning of errands. And, some of my errands are a half an hour away, so that’s an hour on interstates. I agree with you. And, lately, I seem to be driving in the rain. One more reason to rest afterwards.
I’m glad the library staff were glad to see you, and didn’t act as if you were on death’s door. Sorry there were no good new books, though!
Wow, Kevin, I want books delivered by drone.
Home bound here except this morning, have a new pulmonologist, hoping he will be better than the last one. The last one was a long, long drive to Austin, long wait in the waiting room, long wait in the patient room and then she raced in and raced out and then a long drive home! Fingers crossed that he will be better.
That sounds gruelling Carol. How awful. And it doesn’t sound like you got any useful out of it all either. Fingers crossed for better things from the new pulmonologist!
My late wife had to deal with this sort of thing as they had a pulmonologist working with her in 2015 and 2016. The new person insisted on 3 or 4 pm appointments. Which mean and hour and a half across the city inbound and two hours plus going back home. Not to mention that for either one of us, mid afternoon was the worst as by then each of us was exhausted and in pain from our various health issues.
She was young, intensely bubbly, and barely spent any time with her after all the wait time. She was surfing between three hospitals in the area, so Medical City Dallas was last on her ports of call every time. The fact that I had jeans older than her also did not help things.
May your new guy be way better!
At least “Crime Brulee” is pretty good wordplay! Let us know if it’s too sweet!
Like everyone else, Carol, I’m hoping you have better luck with the new doctor!
I honestly love errands. They make me feel productive.
