Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, whether you celebrate, or just stopped in today. I’m so grateful you’re all friends here at Lesa’s Book Critiques. I’m glad we share a little of our lives, and a lot of our reading. Thank you for being such an important part of my life.
There’s a saying that goes around Facebook once in a while, and I”m misquoting. It says something like, if you have a roof over year head, food to eat, and people in your life who you love and love you, and good health, you’re more fortunate than most people in the world. I know that. I complain about cold weather, but I have a warm place to live, blankets, and I can turn up the thermostat. I always have plenty of food to eat and clean water to drink. And, I have a family I love, and I finally live close enough to see them often. I have friends all over the country, and all of you here. Like so many people my age, I have a few complaints about my health, but I’m much better off than others. And, books! I have plenty of books to read.
There are so many blessings in my life, and I don’t always take the time to appreciate them. Thanksgiving isn’t just a time for good food. It’s one day that I do stop and give thanks for the people and blessings in my life. I hope you have a moment to give thanks, too.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Lesa. What a beautiful and important message. I’m going to read it often and really try to take it to heart. ❤️
Happy Thanksgiving to you, and to all of you here.
A beautiful message, and so true. I don’t get to post as often as I would like, but this blog is the first thing I check in the morning. I am grateful for it and for everyone who is part of this community. It is sometimes hard to remember how much I am grateful for with the state of things in our country and our world. Thank you for the reminder,Lesa, and for all that you do.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Jennifer you said what I am thinking in such a lovely way. I don’t often post but I read the blog everyday and honestly feel I am catching up with friends.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Lesa. We are thankful for you!
Absolutely true, Lesa, which is why I give thanks every day, not just today.
Have a great Thanksgiving, everyone. Can’t wait to dig into the stuffing.
As Mary Ann says, we give thanks for you and your wonderful posts, and I agree with everything else you’ve listed as blessings, which I also give thanks for. I’m especially grateful to live in a beautiful and very stable country. (Not hard to achieve when it has under 10 million people.) Thanks, too, Lesa, for your answer to my late post on yesterday’s blog. It IS fun to live in the middle of Western Europe and be able to get on the train and be in at least six different countries in less than a day’s travel–and Paris is our favorite. I was pleased to discover that you also treat yourself to the occasional Regency or Victorian romance. I’ll give your recommendation a try!
Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for knowing you and all of this group. I have so much to be thankful for and this year for the first time, I am going to begin a a hopr for list!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Lesa, and all the friends I have made here over the years. What I appreciate most is the pleasure of belonging to a group that shares their books and thoughts with the rest of us. I will probably never meet most of you in person, but that’s OK. Lesa, I’ve met you twice in person at Left Coast Crime, and I remember telling you that I was looking forward to meeting you more than any of the authors at LCC, having already treasured you as a friend. Glen, I have indeed met you several times, as we don’t live far away from each other, and that was a bonus for sure. I hope we will run into each other again at the Harris Center or a library sale or an outdoor concert.
I’m so fortunate to be happily retired and living close to everyone in my immediate family, and I have so much more to be thankful for as well. Let’s try to remember this feeling every day, not just at Thanksgiving. And happy eating, family, and food today!
Thank you! You all brought tears to my eyes. I’m always grateful to have you in my life, what people now call “found family”. And, I thank all of you for sharing bits of your life with all of us. We truly are blessed. Take care of yourself today, and all days.
And, Margie? I remember when you said you were so excited to meet me. I still don’t feel up to that remark. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving, Glen!
