Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! If you have all five the subjects in the picture above, you have extra reasons to be thankful this year. I know I do. Despite 2020 and the travel I missed, I consider myself fortunate.

I still have my health. I hope none of us reading this get COVID. I’ll be waiting for the vaccine to be available so I can travel again eventually.

I’m home this Thanksgiving with my cats. It’s warm, and I can enjoy my books, call my family, and enjoy the day.

Family. I have so much to be thankful for, beginning with my Mom and my sisters, Linda and Christie. The extended family is loving and I enjoy time spent with them. Maybe not in 2020, but it will come. (And, most of them love to read!)

Friends. I’m lucky. I have friends all over the place thanks to my work and my blog. This year, I want to thank one friend in particular, Erin Mitchell. If you’re able to read the blog today, it’s because of all of Erin’s work to get it transferred to WordPress. I’m thankful for all my friends, all over the country. I love you, and many of you are “family”.

Food. I don’t cook much, but I’m perfectly capable of making a turkey breast and the dishes I like for Thanksgiving. I make one heck of a pie, too, but I won’t bother for just me. But, everything else? Yes! Leftovers are great!

And, of course, I’m thankful for books and my blog, and all of the readers here. If you missed “What Are You Reading?” yesterday, feel free to comment today or on yesterday’s post. I’m always curious.

Thanksgiving isn’t one day. It’s not just a day to eat too much, watch football (or dog shows at my place). Even those who regret that they’re not with family this year have so much to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is an attitude, not a day. I’m thankful that I have the health and the time and the ability to say thank you, publicly, for all the gifts I have in my life

Happy Thanksgiving!
