Kaye Wilkinson Barley and I have been friends online and in person for years. She’s been my roommate at Bouchercon mystery conferences, and on a trip to Paris. It’s always a joy to welcome her to Lesa’s Book Critiques, and to share the books she loves. You can see more of Kaye’s books at her blog, https://www.kayebarleymeanderingsandmuses.com/2026/.
Here’s my faves of the year –
We Are All Guilty Here by Karin Slaughter

Writers and Liars by Carol Goodman

Apostle’s Cove by William Kent Krueger

My Beloved by Jan Karon

All This Could Be Yours by Hank Phillippi Ryan

Hunter’s Heart Ridge by Sarah Stewart Taylor

Mrs. Endlicott’s Splendid Adventure by Rhys Bowen

These Heathens by Mia McKenzie

Through An Open Window by Pamela Terry

That Last Carolina Summer by Karen White

The Correspondent by Virginia Evans

The Look by Michelle Obama

Where the Rivers Merge by Mary Alice Monroe

Great list!
Thanks, Glen
I’m seeing some books by writers I’ve let myself get behind on. I guess I need to catch up.
It’s hard, Mark! Sometimes a new book, even by a favorite author, can sneak by. i haven’t seen as much buzz about the new Karin Slaughter book as I might expect.
Thanks for your list! Can’t believe I’ve only read one of them – Mrs. Endicott’s Splendid Adventure. I loved it, and likely got it because of something you said when you reviewed it on Lesa’s blog. Lots of others to put on my list now.
Lindy, I pass on Kaye’s lists to my cousin. She has some good books on it.
I hope you find some that you enjoy – let me know!
Thank you, Kaye! I have read six of these.
Since we seem to enjoy a lot of the same authors, I am not surprised, Margie.
Would love to read them!
I hope you will find some here that you’ll enjoy.
Nice list, Kaye. I’ve only read one – THE CORRESPONDENT, also on my list – but I have read other books by several of the authors. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jeff!
Such a useful list–thanks. I just used one of my Audible credits to get Karin Slaughter, and I already own (but haven’t read) Hunter’s Heart Ridge. Apostle’s Cove was a treat. I’m seeing The Correspondent on so many best-of lists; I will definitely try it!
Kim, the new Karin Slaughter is a terrific start to a new series that I’m excited about. I’m going to be interested in hearing what you think about all you mentioned.
Mornin’ Everyone! I hope some of you will try some of these books by authors that might be new to you. Abd I hope ou enjoy them.
Thanks for sharing this, Lesa.
Kaye, I always enjoy seeing any of your books lists, your own list on your website, this shorter list, your Paris books. Thank you for sharing. Sending thanks and hugs!
Great list! I’m behind on a couple of the series. I need to get caught up so I can read the new ones.
Thanks, Bev!
