There’s a little romance along with humor in the connections between the women behind the scenes who run Macy’s and Gimbels. Fredericks’ book offers the magic of a department store at Christmastime, and the drudgery behind that magic. I entered for it. Hope to win it. When I lived in Arcadia, CA, we had friends deeply involved with the Rose Parade in Pasadena. That is the only parade I have ever been to, and it was so worth sitting on the grass for hours!
