I love this new cover. I’m excited to share the latest news from Tom Neary, Bill Crider’s son-in-law.

The refreshed book 02 of 25 in Bill Crider’s Sheriff Dan Rhodes series, Shotgun Saturday Night, is available now in ebook and audiobook.
This cover for Shotgun Saturday Night features Deputy Ruth Grady illustrated for the first time. Bill Crider introduced Deputy Ruth Grady as a new character in Shotgun Saturday Night. Deputy Grady is competent, well-qualified, and goes on to appear in every book (2 – 25) of the series.Â
As part of the refresh style for the Sheriff Dan Rhodes series, Sheriff Dan Rhodes is illustrated on the cover. This book’s interior design has been refreshed as well.

This makes me happy.
Me, too, Kaye. Bill Crider was such a kind man.
You must be so pleased, Lesa. Should I start with #1, TOO LATE TO DIE, or this one? I’ve never read any.
Kim, If you get the chance, start with #1, Too Late To Die. But, the quality of all of them is excellent.
I always got a kick out of the original version which showed a man’s flexed, tattooed arm. Bill used to claim they used his arm in the picture, which was pretty funny, if you knew him.
Glad to see the new version with Ruth.
I like Ruth, Jeff. That is funny. I didn’t know Bill well, only met him a couple times, but I get it.
Any word if there will be print versions available?
I haven’t heard that, Jennifer. I’m sorry.
That’s not how I picture either one of them in my mind.
Oh, me neither, Glen. I seldom pay attention to cover drawings of characters because I have my own vision. Except with Craig Johnson’s Longmire. Longmire looks like Craig in my mind’s eye, and Lou Diamond Phillips looks like Henry Standing Bear.
Thank you, Lesa, for getting the word out about the refreshed covers, ebooks, and audio books. I am excited to see them reaching both new and existing readers/listeners!
