I have an unusual post today. I’m going to refer you to another blog. I’m the blogger for The Poisoned Pen bookstore. Yesterday, Sulari Gentill, author of Five Found Dead, launched that mystery at the bookstore. A week ago, I reviewed it here. Five Found Dead is an homage to Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. When I reviewed the book, I mentioned that Sulari and her sister traveled on that train. Although I knew it, because she’s been honest on her Facebook page, talking about her cancer, I didn’t mention how it relates to the book. It’s positive. Don’t think this is a dark commentary. She discussed it in her conversation at the Pen with the bookstore’s owner, Barbara Peters.

Very Interesting! I watched the clip and thought about my train ride on an old German train in China. There would have been nowhere to hide the body. We were lucky to have comfortable bunk beds to watch the scenery roll by but when we had to go the diner car or to the car where there was a restroom, we saw people packed everywhere. Even in the restroom! When you needed to use it, a pile of ten people streamed out and afterwards they streamed in again.
We had a stop one place and I an exciting experience! We had to jump on the train when it was moving, slowly! It was thrilling for me to make the jump, my adrenaline was pumping. That was back in 1993!
Carol, That’s so interesting about your train trip in China. Weird about the restrooms, but I guess in China they crammed in everywhere. Not a place I’d like to ride in though. I think the Orient Express is much more luxurious.
