Congratulations to the winners of the last contest. William C. from Chevy Chase, MD won The Lady from Burma. Karen M. from San Bruno, CA will receive Broadway Butterfly. The books are going out in the mail today.

I’m sure this sounds a little early to give away Halloween books, but these are ARCs that I am not taking with me. I’ll give two of you the chance to win a Halloween mystery.

The first book is Halloween Cupcake Murder, an anthology with stories by Carlene O’Connor, Carol J. Perry, and Liz Ireland. The book comes out August 22, so the winner will know it’s on its way since I’ll mail it August 18. The blurb calls it “A trio of sweet-toothed Halloween cozy mystery tales.” O’Connor takes us to Galway, Ireland for a story of a poisoned cupcake. Carol J. Perry is off to Salem, Massachusetts. And, Liz Ireland takes readers to Santaland where Mrs. Claus introduces candy corn.

In Libby Klein’s Mischief Nights Are Murder, Poppy McAllister discovers that gluten-free Halloweens can scare up another case of murder. Poppy is none too pleased when her B&B is coerced into participating in the Cape May Haunted Dinners Tour during Halloween season. Though her knack for finding dead bodies has given the place a spooky reputation, the Murder House is a completely undeserved nickname. At least it used to be . . .

While Poppy wrangles with some guests who can’t stop squabbling with each other—including a paranormal researcher, a very quirky pet psychic who freaks out her portly Persian, and an undercover tabloid reporter eager to catch her staff in a lie—one of them winds up facedown in a plate of tiramisu. And now she has bigger worries than getting her house TP’d . . .

Which Halloween mystery would you like to win? You can enter to win both, but I need separate entries. Email me at Lesa.Holstine@gmail.com. Your subject line should read either “Win Halloween Cupcake Murder” or “Win Mischief Nights.” Please include your name and mailing address. The giveaway will end Thursday, August. 17 at 5 PM CT.
