Congratulations to the winners of the last contest. Kathy S. from Lincoln, NE will receive The Bitter Past. The Poisoner’s Ring will go to Margie B. in El Dorado Hills, CA. The books are going out in the mail today.

I hope you saw the interview with Susan Furlong this past Tuesday. Furlong’s publicist is giving away one copy of her new book, The Killer’s Wife. Here’s how Furlong described the novel. “Kerry’s serial killer husband eluded arrest and disappeared into the Montana mountains, leaving her to face prison time as an accessory to his crimes. Now, she’s back, on parole, and trying to pick up the pieces of her broken life. Not easy, considering her husband, known as the Hatchet Killer, has become a cult classic in true crime circles. Adam Nash, obsessed with finding the Hatchet Killer, leaves his job as a Chicago cop and transfers to Montana to become Kerry’s parole officer. Soon, both Adam and Kerry become ensnared in a net of lies and murder that threatens an entire community.”

I’m also giving away a copy of Dianne Freeman’s latest mystery, A Newlywed’s Guide to Fortune and Murder. With her new husband George busy on a special mission for the British Museum, Frances has taken on an assignment of her own. The dowager Viscountess Wingate needs someone to sponsor her niece, Kate, for presentation to Queen Victoria. Frances—who understands society’s quirks and constraints as only an outsider can—is the perfect candidate. Kate is charming and intelligent, though perhaps not quite as sheltered as she might first appear. More worrying to Frances is the viscountess’s sudden deterioration. The usually formidable dowager has become shockingly frail, and Frances suspects someone may be drugging her. The spotlight falls on Kate, who stands to inherit if her aunt passes, yet there are plenty of other likely candidates within the dowager’s household, both above and belowstairs. Joining forces with her beloved George, Frances comes to believe that the late viscount, too, was targeted. And with the dowager seeming to be in greater danger every day, they must flush out the villain before she follows in her husband’s footsteps, directly to the grave . . .
